Mom, Dad... I'm Drowning
This isn’t a story about finding yourself. It’s about holding on before you vanish.
Mom, Dad… I’m Drowning is a lyrical, unflinching novel about a queer child who grows up in a house full of silence, shame, and suffocating love. Told through fragments of memory, it’s a portrait of survival in a world where being different is treated like betrayal.
It’s about all the things we can't say to our parents— and all the things they chose not to hear.If you’ve ever felt invisible, if you’ve ever prayed to become someone else, if you’ve ever wondered if love is supposed to hurt this much—
this book is for you.

About The Author
My name is Ilias Agapiou. I write about the things we don’t say—about those who are afraid, who remember, who are drowning. Writing wasn’t a choice—it was a way to survive.
My stories explore identity, memory, and silence. I’m a queer author writing in the language of wounds—but also of hope. I live in Amsterdam, but my words belong everywhere.
If you’ve ever felt like the world has no room for you—come in. These pages were written for you too.
